Hosted by the Wild Mountain Collective, this event will be held on Saturday 1st December 2pm till sunset at Gallery H Basement, 227 Chifley Road Dargan (near Bell railway station).

Entry by optional donation.[/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner]Sculptor Henryk Topolnicki’s visually arresting Gallery H is one of Mark O’Carrigan’s Hatter Huts, winner of the 2016 Excellence in Housing Awards for their energy efficiency and suitability for bushfire zone living in the Greater Blue Mountains.
Participants will enjoy food from the pop-up Tibetan restaurant, drinks from Young Henry’s, an art exhibition of local artists and a program of live music and poetry—designed to create an immersive experience of encountering the wild in a spectacular location with commanding vistas of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.“The Wild Mountain Collective is a community of painters, photographers, writers, thinkers, poets, sculptors, musicians, lyricists, architects and philosophers of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area, which aims to highlight and celebrate the important role of our relationship to the wild of the natural world for our community and individual sense of wellbeing. This is becoming increasingly important as we grapple with issues like climate change, economic dislocations, technological change, cost of living pressures and increasing levels of anxiety and depression in our communities”, said Barbara Lepani on behalf of the Wild Mountain Collective, which is a project of the Blue Mountains Creative Arts Network.[/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1540911100388{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 50px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: #dce8d5 !important;}”]Wayne Brennan, an Aboriginal expert on Wollemi rock art, will open the event with a talk on the important role of art in the 65,000+ years of Aboriginal culture. Haydn Washington, a well known environmental scientist, nature conservationist from Nullo Mountain, and Patron of the Wild Mountain Collective, will read some of his poetry of the wild.

The pop up art exhibition will feature an image of Wollemi rock art, and sculpture, paintings, photographs, textiles and video art from artists of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area.[/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”779″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner]The soundscape artist, Sean Botha will kick off the musical program, to be followed by violinist and singer/songwriter Maizy Coombes who wowed audiences at the 2018 Creative Leader Awards at the Baroque Room in Katoomba on 18 October. Also performing will be Humumbra’s Gigi Ray and Georgia Webb with their enigmatic textures and lyrical soundscapes, and Stewart and Ali Oliver with their 5-piece band, Future State, which specializes in creating psychedelic immersive experiences that celebrate the wild of the natural world.

Ryan Jasper Walsh, who is currently filming a documentary for the Colong Foundation about the Gardens of Stone, will be coming along to film the event, assisted by Brad Diedrich as photographer.
